Events & Show Details The Louisiana Reptile & Exotic Animal Expo is much more than a sale. It is a convention, a social as well as business gathering for our industry. Keep this in mind, meet and talk to as many hobbyist and breeders as you can, visit the clubs and veterinarians at the show, learn new information, share ideas, purchase books on your new animal, attend the seminars and learn in a casual, fun atmosphere. If you do so, you will go home not only with animals purchased but with a wealth of knowledge, insight and contacts that are priceless. Larry The Birdman
I started doing bird shows by accident. I went to the Palm Bay Library to return a book one day, with a Blue & Gold Macaw on my shoulder. The librarian asked me to come in and talk about my parrot. I gave her my phone number and told her that I knew a guy who did shows. I didn't really want to do it. She called me about two months later, in a panic. She said the guy who was supposed to come in the next day canceled. I was talked into it. I did four the next year, eight the following year, twelve the year after that. I perform hundreds of shows every year. Almost every parrot in my show is rescued. I retrain them to stop biting, plucking, and screaming, to feel happiness (some have never known) and to do tricks., for praise and rewards. I teach only with positive re enforcement and love .Together we tour to entertain, and educate people about parrots. I meet thousands of wonderful people.
