Croc Encounters

Croc Encounters is a non-profit 501(c)3 reptile park and wildlife center in Tampa , Florida . The organization was founded in an effort to provide a permanent sanctuary to all unwanted crocodilians and many other reptiles. The mission of the organization is to promote habitat and wildlife conservation through guided eco-tours and outreach educational programs. Included on the 22 acre facility are reptiles in easy to view enclosures, and wetlands, that provide a unique backdrop, and an opportunity for a self-guided herping experience.

Croc Encounters will have an exciting and unique presentation with animals from our park. Get a first hand look at the building of our reptile park, meet with some of our dedicated volunteers, get an up-close encounter with our reptiles and hear the stories of how some amazing animals ended up in our care. We offer a hands-on experience geared towards an audience of any age. Any audience member who is brave enough can come and touch the gators, crocs and other reptiles from our park. Affectionately known as "The Big Snake Daddy" Roark has often maintained the largest collection of reptiles in the history of the State of South Carolina encompassing a very diverse group of nearly 1,100 snakes, numerous crocodilians, as well as other herpetofauna. Throughout his career he has successfully bred and raised countless species of reptiles, mammals, and birds of prey, placing many on display at worthy institutions.. Roark is the owner of Roark's Reptile Safari (SC's premier educational outreach/rainforest exhibit), operates South Carolina's Reptile Rescue working with statewide law enforcement, Charleston Animal Society, the South Carolina Dept of Natural Resources (alligators & gopher tortoises), U. S. Fish & Wildlife, and directs a 21 acre exotic wildlife rescue. Roark is President of the South Carolina Association of Animals and Reptile Keepers, President of the Southeast Hot Herp Society's SC Chapter, the former Zoological Director of Alligator Adventure, Crocodilian Advisory Consultant to the SC Aquarium, Founder and former President of the South Carolina Herpetocultural Society, a member of the SC State Animal Advisory Review Board and serves on numerous wildlife and conservation advisory boards working to keep reptiles and exotic animals available to hobbyists and professionals alike . Roark's work with crocodiles is unprecedented. He is the only person known to have successfully trained an adult crocodile.

Zoozort

While working as a nursery school teacher, Noelle Tarrant discovered an exciting and safe way for children to imagine and explore the world of animals. Bringing animals into her classroom and then into private homes. She created and was president of Outragehisss... Pets, in New York; before moving to North Carolina to start Zoozort in 2007. She has been a licensed animal exhibitor for 20 years. Her experience working with children of all ages has given her the ability to capture their attention and maintain an almost story-telling atmosphere with interactive questions and demonstrations. Her enthusiasm about animals is contagious and she loves being able to share her passion for animal welfare with children and adults.

Now Noelle brings her show to the Caroina Reptile & Exotic Pet Show. Both kids and adults will enjoy learning more about the wild kingdom in Zoozorts hands on interactive exhibit as well has her daily shows on the Discovery Zone stage.
