Croc Encounters

Croc Encounters is a non-profit 501(c)3 reptile park and wildlife center in Tampa , Florida . The organization was founded in an effort to provide a permanent sanctuary to all unwanted crocodilians and many other reptiles. The mission of the organization is to promote habitat and wildlife conservation through guided eco-tours and outreach educational programs. Included on the 22 acre facility are reptiles in easy to view enclosures, and wetlands, that provide a unique backdrop, and an opportunity for a self-guided herping experience.

Croc Encounters will have an exciting and unique presentation with animals from our park. Get a first hand look at the building of our reptile park, meet with some of our dedicated volunteers, get an up-close encounter with our reptiles and hear the stories of how some amazing animals ended up in our care. We offer a hands-on experience geared towards an audience of any age. Any audience member who is brave enough can come and touch the gators, crocs and other reptiles from our park. Come and join us for an unforgettable Croc Encounter!

Larry The Birdman

Larry the Birdman

I started doing bird shows by accident. I went to the Palm Bay Library to return a book one day, with a Blue & Gold Macaw on my shoulder. The librarian asked me to come in and talk about my parrot. I gave her my phone number and told her that I knew a guy who did shows. I didn't really want to do it. She called me about two months later, in a panic. She said the guy who was supposed to come in the next day canceled. I was talked into it. I did four the next year, eight the following year, twelve the year after that.

I perform hundreds of shows every year. Almost every parrot in my show is rescued. I retrain them to stop biting, plucking, and screaming, to feel happiness (some have never known) and to do tricks., for praise and rewards. I teach only with positive re enforcement and love .Together we tour to entertain, and educate people about parrots. I meet thousands of wonderful people.

Food concessions operate during show hours, snacks, refreshments, full lunches and ice cream.

Same day re-entry allowed with hand stamps. Hand stamps are issued at the information booth.
